Stephanie has over a decade of experience training and handling dogs professionally for service, hearing, guide, and scent detection work, working with Guide Dogs for the Blind and Texas Hearing and Service Dogs. She has years of experience training group and private lessons in skills ranging from basic obedience to behavior modification. She received formal education from the Starmark Academy for Professional Dog Trainers to become a behavioral specialist. Most recently, she was a Bed Bug Detection K9 Handler. While she was partnered with one dog, she certified with four. Her K9 partner was certified under two organizations: World Detector Dog Organization and Integrated Bed Bug Management Association. She has a keen eye for and impeccable interpretation of changes in body language that makes her an invaluable source for behavior modification and scent detection training.
Emily received her B.S. in Business Administration- Entrepreneurship Specialization, Summa Cum Laude from the University of Baltimore. She has over a decade of experience in veterinary medicine and was a veterinary technician in Maryland and Pennsylvania. Her primary dog training focus has been in the world of sporting dogs; she titled her dog, Liliana, in flyball, agility, lure coursing, and therapy work, and worked with her to pass her AKC Canine Good Citizen certification and American Temperament Test Society temperament test. Emily was a Bed Bug Detection K9 Handler and certified with two K9s under the World Detector Dog Organization. She studied with world-renowned dog trainer, Michael Ellis, at the Michael Ellis School for Dog Trainers where she learned important skills in team engagement and advanced techniques for increasing motivation and drive. Her goal for any dog and handler team she comes into contact with is to strengthen their bond as a team and build engagement and motivation for the work.
